Following the successful completion of Stage 2 relining, Aaro Group were awarded the Stage 3 Relining works at the Port of Brisbane.
The first stage of works entailed full CCTV and assessment of 28 drainage lines across the wharf at Berth 3, AAT Terminal. Following the initial assessment, design was completed for the proposed lines to be relined. Relining materials were ordered based on the design and installation works commenced.
Challenges for the project include scheduling of works around tidal movements, plugging of lines and ongoing dewatering, mussel removal from lines affected by sea water ingress and maintaining shipping movements on the wharf. Works also included the removal and reinstatement of the manhole lids and asphalt to allow access to the drain lines. Aaro Group have maintained a strong relationship with the Port of Brisbane and are in discussions for future works at other berth locations within the Port.
